“Rehavior,” meaning to change behavior, is a word that Andrew Shipp first heard at his current agency, Northlich. It’s one he’s embraced not only at work but also out of the office.

At Northlich, Andrew and his colleagues work with clients to change their customers’ behaviors, not just their awareness and perception around a brand or product. Outside Northlich, Andrew is an advocate for the #BeSomebody movement, which is not only a hashtag on Twitter, but a way to change your behaviors and focus on the positive things in life. Like when Andrew was hit in the face with a golf ball a few years back and lost his right eye. Would have been pretty easy to go the negative route. But instead, Andrew still golfs today and embraces a concept like #BeSomebody. That should tell you a lot about him as a person.

In his free time, Andrew’s passion for helping college students takes him back to his alma mater, where he works with the next wave of professionals on understanding how to better manage their online identity and maybe change those behaviors to put forward a more professional image. You can hear Andrew talk about his work at Northern Kentucky University and more below.

Questions

  1. Ok, just went to check out the Northlich site – Northlich is your agency – and the first thing that caught my attention was “Rehavior.” Fill us in on what that means for you and your clients.
  2. When I think of you, Andrew, I think of #pr20chat and also #besomebody. What is the #besomebody effort all about? Tell me a story about how this project has impacted you.
  3. Your About section on your blog says you love to golf, run and go out to dinner. So what do you shoot on the course? What’s the farthest you’ve ever run? And best restaurant you ate at recently?
  4. The last question is always reserved for you to tell us about a cause you care a lot about. What’s your passion?

Andrew_ShipPR Thank you for taking the time and for telling such compelling stories. I think all communicators can learn a thing or two from what you shared.

Btw, Eric Hosmer is being compared to Joey Votto, per Buster Olney. I'll take it :).
